During this session, instructors will go into detail on how to help students determine which treatments to select while out in the competition field. A large portion of the time will focus on Part 3 of the score card discussing different uses and decisions that students would need to select based on observation in the contest.
This session will focus on the technical aspects of Land Judging in Nebraska. This will focus on parts 1 & 2 of the scorecard and assist instructors on best practices in helping teach students skills to help them determine soil profile measurements, soil texture determination and permeability, calculating slope, determining erosion factors and finally selecting a Land Capability Class based on the students data collection. Emphasis will be shown in how to use provided materials like the Land Capability Chart in helping to make site classification simple.
