As classrooms become more diverse, both middle and high school Career and Technical Education (CTE) educators are faced with the challenge of supporting English Language Learners (EL) in mastering both language and technical skills. This session will offer practical, research-based strategies for middle school and high school teachers to help ELLs succeed in CTE environments specifically Family and Consumer Sciences classrooms. Middle school educators, in particular, will benefit from approaches that build foundational language skills, prepare students for the transition to high school, and engage them in hands-on learning. From scaffolding instruction to fostering an inclusive classroom culture, this session will provide actionable techniques for breaking down language barriers and building skills that will last a lifetime.
